Why Do Some Eyebrows Turn Red After Laser PMU Removal?
If your eyebrows look red, orange, or pink after laser permanent makeup removal, it does not necessarily mean something went wrong. This is a known color conversion that can occur with certain cosmetic tattoo pigments.
Many permanent makeup pigments contain a mixture of colorants, including iron oxides and titanium dioxide. During laser treatment, darker components may respond first, revealing underlying red, orange, pink, or yellow tones that were previously hidden within the pigment mixture.
The reaction depends on the pigment composition, depth, previous treatments, and individual skin response. Because the exact ingredients used in permanent makeup are often unknown, the color change cannot always be predicted before treatment.

Color conversion can simply represent another stage of the removal process. After the skin has fully healed, the remaining pigment can be evaluated and the treatment approach adjusted accordingly.
