Xeomin
Xeomin is a brand of botulinum toxin type A, a neurotoxin that is used for various cosmetic and medical purposes. Similar to other botulinum toxin products such as Botox and Dysport, Xeomin works by temporarily paralyzing or weakening muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Xeomin contains incobotulinumtoxinA as its active ingredient. This is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A.
Key Points & Benefits of Xeomin :
Mechanism of Action | Botulinum toxin works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected. This causes temporary muscle paralysis, which, in turn, reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle contractions, such as frown lines and crow's feet. |
Indications for Cosmetic Use | Xeomin is primarily used for cosmetic purposes to treat facial wrinkles, particularly glabellar lines (frown lines between the eyebrows). It may also be used for other facial areas with dynamic wrinkles. |
Duration of Results | The effects of Xeomin are temporary, and patients may need to undergo repeat treatments every few months to maintain the desired results. |
